This necklace consists of a long screw piercing a heart. Crafted from 18K white gold, the piece comprises 103 components for the necklace and 5 for the clasp. It is adorned with 2,274 diamonds. The pendant features two large pear-cut stones combined to form an oversized heart-shaped diamond. This two-diamond design allows for a dimpled center crevasse, offering more surface era for light to dance in and out of refractions. Homer’s PAVED SCREW LINK CHAIN is an illusory presentation of one continuous screw, created by a meticulous assembly of over a hundred individual links, arranged in incrementing sizes, from the smallest at 4.5mm diameters to just under 7mm. The screw is paved on three surfaces, making it appear to be coated in sheer frost.
All metallic components are produced through casting techniques. Each link of the necklace is individually prepared with rows of pavé set diamonds, bordered by a fine metal edge. The links are connected by posts that allow balanced movement in all directions. The heart motif detailing on the reverse of the links features a diamond-cut ridge texture..
The centerpiece features total 18.55-carat diamond, hand-cut and mirror-matched for symmetry. These stones are carefully drilled from the table to the side of the pavilion, allowing them to be pierced by the screw element. The screw head holding the stone incorporates two half-moon cut diamonds and an elongated baguette, while the screw tip is covered with micro pavé diamonds.
The pendant's sides are also set with pavé diamonds. A hidden hinge at the side of the pendant enables it to open and close through two tension points. The back-side of the pendant features a winged-heart motif, designed by Barry Kieselstein-Cord in 1998 and remixed in 2024 by Homer. The window in the back-side lets additional light into the diamond setting when the piece is worn.
After assembly, the necklace undergoes a final polishing. The process concludes with platinum plating, enhancing the metal’s durability.
